      • The goal of the “Promoting Excellence in General Education” campaign is to demonstrate the importance of general education to the undergraduate experience by meaningfully supporting and rewarding instructors and administrators connected to our general education program. The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign wants to truly embrace in a visible way general education as foundational knowledge across disciplines and highlight the Gen Ed Program as a chance for students to develop a better understanding of themselves and the opportunity to become more engaged citizens. Details including eligibility, terms, and the application are located on the Gen Ed Website. Questions may be directed to gen-ed@illinois.edu.
        • The Gen Ed Professional Development Award offers eligible faculty up to $5,000 for professional development to attend national/international conferences focused on general education. 
        • The Gen Ed Innovation Award provides faculty with $7,500 to develop and implement educational innovations within a Gen Ed course to enhance the General Education Program and improve students’ learning experiences.
